Erika Blanton, M.D.

Erika Blanton, M.D., received her medical degree from Westfalische, Landes University in Germany in 1966. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at VCU's Medical College of Virginia (MCV). She continued her training with a fellowship in infertility and reproductive endocrinology at MCV as well.

Dr. Blanton enjoys the distinction of being the first female OB/GYN in Richmond and is a pioneer in the field of women's health. She is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is a past president of the Richmond OB-GYN Society and a past president of the Virginia Society of OB-GYN.

Dr. Blanton provides services through all stages of a woman's life from adolescence to post-menopausal. Her interests include regular and high-risk obstetrics, menopause management, and hormone replacement therapy, including bioidentical hormones. She is welcoming new patients.

Prescott Prillaman, M.D., FACOG

Prescott Prillaman, M.D.

Prescott W. Prillaman, M.D., FACOG, was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Radford, Virginia. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his medical degree from VCU’s Medical College of Virginia. He completed his residency as Chief Resident at West Virginia University in Morgantown with awards in laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Prillaman is involved in several Phase III pharmaceutical studies for a variety of OB/GYN issues including endometriosis, heavy menstrual flow, decreased libido and menopausal symptoms. He is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American College of OB/GYN. He is a member of the Richmond Academy of Medicine, the Medical Society of Virginia, and the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine.

Dr. Prillaman began performing daVinci surgery in January of 2005, the month the FDA approved this robot assisted surgery for gynecologic use. He was the first surgeon in Central Virginia to perform both total and laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomies, sacrocolpopexy (vaginal suspension) and myomectomy using the daVinci Robot. He has participated in training most of the daVinci gynecologic surgeons at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, both proctoring (training for privileges) and assisting with complicated cases.

Dr. Prillaman specializes in minimally invasive procedures including advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic techniques. He has been invited to instruct on single incision methods and deflectable tip laparoscopes.

Dr. Prillaman is married and has 4 children.
